Complete Exam Setup

Examination:

Examinations is one of most sophisticated and important modules which involves some setup before the first time use. Once setup, the system takes care of the entire Examination process for you. 


Please follow the steps below to configure examination.


Exam Setup

    1.Subject Master
  1. Set all possible subjects irrespective of classes
  2. Select Subject Type as GENERAL, Additional for all normal subjects


    2.Subject Grouping
  1. It is used to create different subject groups.
  2. In most of the cases, you will create a Single Group and assign all the subjects to that group.


    3.Exam Master 

  1. Setup all exams for all classes
  2. You need 1 entry for each type of exam/test
  3. Create an exam, give basic details like start and end date
  4. Add all the classes which have this exam by clicking on Add Items in the grid
  5. If default max. mark is not entered here, then it will fetch from the class subject allocation.



Note: The above 3 steps are just one-time activity and you won’t be doing them again.


    4.Class Subject Allocation
  1. Select Class
  2. Select Class Teacher - Class teacher will have the access to VIEW/ADD/EDIT the entire class's marks
  3. Select Subject Group
  4. Add subjects applicable for this class
  5. Select Subject Teacher next to each subject - optional. If selected, the Subject teacher will have access to VIEW/ADD/EDIT marks of the subjects she is handling 
  6. Repopulate All Exam Subjects:
                    (i).If you select this as Yes and save, it will go through all the exams this class has, and assign these subjects to each of the exams automatically, later you just need to check and change if anything is needed. This will save your work of going to each and every exam and assigning subjects to it. Please note that any assignment already done to the exams would be lost when you do this and a new assignment will be done.

                    (ii).If you select this as No and save, it will not add subjects to any of the exams

                    (iii).If you select this as Selected Exams, then in the Select Exams Drop-down, you can choose the particular Exam / Test  you wish to repopulate. Also, in this mode, you need to select the subjects which you want to repopulate. You can select the subjects by clicking on the checkbox next to them. The selected subjects are then assigned to the selected exams.


        7. Max Marks: If max. marks is entered here, then this marks is used during repopulation. In case you leave the max mark as 0 during repopulation, the default max mark in the Exam Master screen would be used. 



    5.Class Subject Sub Components      

If any exam is made up of 2 exams, like Exam and Practicals, then you can add the subjects to the subject here
  1. Select Class
  2. Select Subject
  3. Add Sub components
  4. During mark entry, it will show these 2 sub components to enter marks instead of 1
  5. Repopulate Exam-> On selecting this, It will assign these sub components to all exams for the selected class, you will later need to only remove these sub components for whichever exam not needed.
  6. You can also set the max mark for each of the sub components.
  7. Make sure that the total max. marks of sub components is equal to the max. marks of Class Subject Allocation / Exam Master.




    6.Student Subject Allocation - For OPTIONAL subjects
  1. This is needed if you need to assign students to OPTIONAL subjects. 
  2. Its only needed when a subject is chosen only for few students within a class and is not applicable for others.
  3. You can Create New -> Select Class and Subject and assign students and save. 
  4. When done, only the selected student will have that subject during mark entry.

    7.Exam Subject Allocation
  1. This screen is used to assign subject to each Class/Exam.
  2. This is similar to the Class Subject Allocation Screen.
  3. Additionally you can choose the max marks and weightage for each subject and also mark if this exam is an optional exam 
  4. This data in this form will be populated automatically if you select Repopulate All Exam Subjects in the Class Subject Allocation screen. Normally you would never come to screen unless you want to check and change if anything




    8.Exam Subject Sub Components
  1. This screen is used to assign subject subcomponents for the given exam.
  2. This data will be populated automatically if you select Repopulate Exam in he Class Subject Sub components screen. If you don’t want sub components for any exam then you can delete it.
  3. You can also manually select the class and exam and assign sub components to a subject like Exam and Practicals to only 12th
  4. Whenever you set some sub components for a given subject and exam, during mark entry you will be entering marks for the subcomponents.


    9.Co-Scholastic Areas
  1. This form is used to setup the Co-Scholastic Areas and Skills which the School handles.


    10.Co-Scholastic Skills And Indicators
  1. In this screen, you select the Area and Skill and enter the descriptive indicators along with the grade.


    11.Co-Scholastic Skills Allocation
  1. This is where you allocate what all skills are applicable to different classes.
