What is BoM(Bill of Material)?

A Bill of Material is a document defining the quantity of each component required to manufacture a finished product. It also includes the routing and individual steps of the manufacturing process.

With HAL ERP, you can link multiple BoMs to each product and use it to describe multiple variants of them. Each BoM will, yet, be associated with one product only.

This feature will help optimize your manufacturing process while saving you time.

Setting up a BoM

1. The first step to create a BoM for a product is to create the Finished Product in the Inventory.

Inventory>> Item List>> Create New

While creating a finished Product, choose the Item Type as 'Inventory Assembly' to denote that it is a finished product.

2. Once the finished Product is created in the Inventory, the BoM for the created finished product can be set up from Manufacturing>>Bill Of Materials>> Create New

Now Add the various components that make up the production of your final product and their respective quantities. You can add the Items (ADD ITEMS) or create new Items from CREATE ITEMS and add it to the list.




Click on ADD to create the BoM for the Finished product added.
