The Quality module of HAL ERP is designed to define quality control plans to trigger quality control checks at specific inventory operations (receiving items and final inspection of manufactured goods)
To define a Quality Control plan, go to
Quality Check Parameters
This module is to define the parameters required for quality check.
For example, consider a manufacturing company that requires its raw material say apples each to weigh 100 gms so the quality check parameter here is the weight.
Quality Check Template
This module allows to create a quality control plan for a certain item. In this, we can add multiple quality check parameters for an item and a quality check template for the item could be created.
Consider the same example, say that we want to check the freshness of the item that we are receiving so we could add another parameter say days where we could create a check that the no of days from the package date should be less than 2, etc.,
- The template name field is to define a name for the template
- Transactions is a field to select all the forms that may require a quality check. In the above example, the quality is checked after the Item is received from the vendor, so the Item Receipt form is selected. You can add as many forms that may require the check.
- Quality Template details is the grid to add the quality check parameters and define acceptance criteria for the same.
- Acceptance field is the criteria for the quality check.
- Acceptance formula is the permissible leverages of the acceptance value. In the given screenshot, the number of days that the received item has to be less than 2 days from the packed date. so the quality check value is 2 and the acceptance formula is that the 'reading' ( entered value for quality check in the 'Quality check valuation' form should be less than 2. You can enter multiple acceptance criteria formulas using AND/OR operator.
Quality Check Evaluation
Once the quality check plan is set up, the evaluation can be done from the Quality check evaluation form. The quality check can be done for Item receipts(Receiving items) and Work orders (for manufactured goods).
- Enter Transaction details is the tab where we select the type of transaction (either Work order or Item receipt)
- Inspection details is the tab where we can choose the details of the employee who has performed the quality check
- Quality check tab is to select whether the particular quality check tab is approved or not.
Select Quality check details tab is the grid that populates the items from the transaction that is selected(Work order or Item Receipt).
- Accepted Qty and Rejected Qty field gets the value once the Quality check evaluation is complete.
- Inspection Type field has two options to chose from Whole or Individual. The 'whole' option is selected when you choose to inspect only one item from the lot. The 'individual' option is selected when you choose to inspect each of the items from the lot. The below-given screenshots show how the Enter Values for selected Items grid is accommodated for 'whole' and individual' selection
You can enter the value for the items in the Enter the value for selected items grid and then click on ADD to create the transaction. Based on the value entered and the criteria given for the QC plan, the result will be populated in the form.
